Lipid profile: It's great you lost weight, butyYour triglycerides are too high. Some statins cause problems, but others a worth a try. Fish oil has been advocated for reducing production of these compounds, but it is often the reduction in consumption of foods that promote triglycerides that does this (i.e. during dieting). Another lipid profile is a good idea at this time.

Good work: starting with changes you can make to improve your health is the lowest risk, least expensive and most gratifying way to deal with a problem like high cholesterol. Depending on what other cardiovascular risks you have and what side effects you experienced on statins, your doctor may want to review other options with you. Keep up the good work!
