A member asked:

The stools are hard and am not able to pass it. bleeding occurs while passing it and suddenly burning sensation and pain occurs around the anal area.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rectal bleeding: The bleeding may be due to a painful anal fissure and/or hemorrhoids injured by hard stool. To more easily pass stools take daily stool softener like colace, drink adequate fluids, include fiber in your diet and insert glycerin rectal suppositories before BM. Insert dulcolax suppository or lubricated fleets enema as needed. Apply warm compresses. See proctologist if anal discomfort, blood persists.
