I know sugar in the urine is a symptom of diabetes, but can sugar in the urine be a symptom of kidney cancer?

Not typically: The isolated finding of increased blood sugar in the urine would not typically be associated with kidney cancer. Blood in the urine is the most common finding for those patients although it is somewhat of a non specific finding.
