Possible: It is uncommon, however, if the tumor does not affect the collecting system it may grow without producing obvious blood in urine.

Absolutely: Some kidney cancers can grow to a very large size without producing blood in the urine. Other cancers involving the kidney produce blood in the urine at a relatively small size. It depends on the type of cancer, the location of the cancer and the parts of the kidney that are involved by the cancer.
