Get checked: Nexplanon should not cause pain. If it is causing pain then you will need to see you Obgyn for an evaluation. It is quite rare but there are cases where patients have been pressing on it causing it to shift around or migrate.

Implanon pain/ache: Most likely it is due to the implanon putting pressure on a nerve. Try treating it with NSAID like ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen (Aleve) especially when it is aching. If this is not helpful, you should consult the healthcare provider who implanted the implanon. Perhaps it can be repositioned. It would be a shame to not be able to take advantage of this most reliable form of birth control.
