Fever/spots/pain: Hfm is a viral gut infection. Some kids can have it & run a brief temperature & never show other symptoms. Some have fever, localized spots on their wrists & nothing else. Some have terrible mouth sores, spots on wrists/forearms/legs feet & around the bottom & have cramping & loose stools. So fever, loose stools &cramps, amount & location of blisters seem to be the main variables.

Painful: This viral illness causes a high fever and the lesions can be quite painful in the mouth. Paracetamol and ibuprofen will help with the fever and pain. The most important thing is to make sure the child is hydrated. Ice blocks or cold drinks may help with the mouth lesions.

Hand foot and mouth : Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is usually a short mild illness that mainly affects children. Most children fully recover within ten days, and usually less. Serious complications occur rarely. This disease is not related to the disease with a similar name which affects animals. There is nothing treatment to make the virus go away . Aim of treatment is to make person comfortable by painkillers
