Still need cleaning: Vaporizers still need to be cleaned despite putting out steam. Also can tip over and cause scalding burns. Wiser and safer to use cool mist humidifier. Clean humidifier daily to reduce mold/bacteria growth.

You choose: You need to clean both & any moist machine can harbor germs and promote mold. With any device that has a heating element you can burn down the house or injure yourself when trying to fill it while not waking the kid at night.I haven't recommended any of the boilers in decades.Most modern vaporizers use ultrasonic vibration to create the mist, not a heater.
