Relax: Your nasal passages are lined with internal hairs and sticky mucous that trap such particles before they get very far up your nose.If they did get past these your lungs would respond with a repetitive cough to dislodge and force it out.

Morning, as of yesterday I have been experiencing shortness of breath. This is very unusual for me as I never have a chest infection unless a prior infection. My husband also has unusual symptoms, he has sinus +runny nose. Is it wise to get tested ?
33/m. Never smoked. No cough, intermittent SOB, relieved with inhaler. Clear CXR, lung sounds normal. Allergies/PN drip, and sometimes very small streaks blood in mucus after throat clearing. Also have blood in nose occasionally. Suggest lung cancer?
Does lung cancer ever present with sinus pressure, runny nose, post nasal drip? I also have intermittent SOB, but resolves with inhaler and doesn't get in the way of regular activity. Cough only occasionally with throat irritation. Clean x-ray also.
Will inhaling a small amount of post nasal drip into lungs cause aspiration pneumonia?
