It's not uncommon: during or after any kind of lung infection to have inflammation of the pleura (the outer membrane surrounding the lungs). The pleura are very pain-sensitive. If the pain is adjacent to where your pneumonia was seen or heard, that may be what's going on. Even tho you have symptoms, MRI, CT and x-rays might not necessarily pick this up, Dr. Anne
