Why do they say that a woman with type 2diabetes may not need to take insulin at all for a while following childbirth??

Diabetic pregnancy: The inception of a pregnancy to a Diabetic mother actually makes the blood sugars rise unpredictably during the pregnancy + insulin use. Once the delivery occurs, the blood sugars often rapidly drop for a few days as the stressor (baby & placenta) is no longer on board. However, blood sugar monitoring post partum still needs to be done as insulin needs may return if sugar blood levels rise again.
