Had nasal swab done bc of stuffiness and sinus headaches. tested positive for strep a. do i need antibiotics? does this mean i'm a carrier?

Fever? Other Symps?: A nasal swab only detects the presence of Strep bacteria (in this case, from the "A group" - Group A Strep or GAS). It does NOT determine infection. Symptoms do that. Are you having fever? Sore throat? Enlarged glands? These are signs of an infection. TTYD or use HealthTap Prime to determine if you need antibiotics. If you're just a carrier, avoid sick contacts but antibiotics won't help you.
