A member asked:

I have a small tophy at my gout, could allopurinol help me to reduce the tophy from my gout? no pain anymore, only tophy still stay in my toe...thanks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Allopurinol for toph: There is no guarantee that allopurinol or any of the other uric acid lowering medications will reduce them, but they can. You would need to get your uric acid level near 5 to have a good chance though. And then manage it carefully through diet.
