Maybe/not: If it is truly inflamed the procedure is more risky because the structure has dilated blood vessels that bleed easier. If she had an abscess pocket forming in one or both tonsils they would proceed because it would be needed immediately.Most allow the tonsils to settle down to a resting state, which only an exam could determine.The ENT must decide.
