I had a tonsillectomy 3 yrs ago. now i have sore throat, headache, low fever and white patches where tonsils were and a few red spots. is this strep?

Viral or strep: This could be a viral or strep infection. Have a rapid screening throat culture for strep where you will get an answer within 15 to 30 minutes. If the test is negative and symptoms persist a more accurate routine throat culture can be done with results in 1 to 2 days.
