Yes, but xray first!: In reality if you are having swelling this far after an injury, you should see an orthopedic ankle/sports specialist. You may have more than just a ligament injury. Sometimes, a patient can injure the cartilage on top of the talus bone causing an Osteochondral Defect. Get an xray with the specialist. If it is present you may need surgery. If it is normal, move forward with physical therapy.
