Common: If your cosmetic issue only involves your nasal tip, there is not need for complete rhinoplasty which often involve fracture of nasal bone; more post op pain and possible black eyes for a few weeks!

Less often: Lovely noses have parts that are harmonious and all fit well together. Seldom is the tip the only part that requires alteration. Blending the components of the nose to flow together, in a natural manner, is what makes a superb rhinoplasty vs one that looks worked upon. www.artofplasticsurgery.com.

Both!: There is no such thing as a 'cookie cutter' rhinoplasty. Each of the aesthetic elements of the nose needs to be evaluated to plan which type of rhinoplasty will give you your desired result.

Tip rhinoplasty: Is performed for someone who has a straight nasal dorsum, but a large or prominent shape to their nasal tip area. Sometimes you only need to fix part of the nose! it can give a lovely cosmetic result when used correctly.

Rare: It is uncommon to need only a tip rhinoplasty. That procedure would only be done if you are totally happy with every other aspect of your nose. The tip is usually narrowed and rotated in a tip rhinoplasty. When the tip changes it can change how you view the rest of the nose. Discuss your expectations with your surgeon before you decide what to do.
