Sore finger: Redness and pain, in the absence of injury, suggests infection or acute arthritis including gout. If hot(not too hot) soaks and anti-inflammatory medication like Advil don't relieve the inflammation or if symptoms worsen, see a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
