No.: Saw palmetto is billed as an alternative to Finasteride for hair loss, but there is no credible evidence to support this, and no logical reason why it would work. The rationale is that both are also used for prostate enlargement, but there is no evidence that saw palmetto works on prostates either! only Finasteride and Minoxidil have been legitimately shown to prevent hair loss; stick with them.
