Saw Palmetto: Saw palmetto (serenoa repens) is often taken for male urinary symptoms. Due to the assumed mechanism, some think it can also grow hair. But according to the best studies it doesn't actually help in either department. It seems this herb is not very useful except for the ever-present placebo effect.
