A member asked:

I have pcos and have noticed my hair thinning, im considering taking saw palmetto and would like to see if this is recommended or if it doesnt work

A doctor has provided 1 answer

PCOS: hair loss: See your gyn provider and ask about the use of a testosterone blocking agent, like Finesteride. this should arrest the hair loss. Also inquire about using oral contraceptives to diminish the estrogen effect on the lining of the uterus. Constant estrogen can eventually cause problems, and oral bcp's will stop ovarian production of estrogen.
