Infection?: The swelling is most likely an infection which would require antibiotics along with specific treatment depending upon the cause and extent of the problem. See a dentist as soon as possible as these types of situations can become more serious very quickly.

Possible infection: Could be from the gum (periodontal), could be from the tooth (endodontic). Either way it needs the attention of a local dentist who can treat you. All the best...
