Need exam: Hard to say not knowing more history. Calcium deposits can occur in the palate and around the jaw bone. Let your doc or dentist take a peek...If had been there for 20 yrs that would be less concerning....But only one year....Let someone take a look.

See dentist: It is impossible to tell you what is going on in your mouth. You need to see a dentist and have that lump evaluated. That is the only way to find out what that lump is and what kind of treatment you will need.

It could be: It could be a number of things ranging from normal bone anatomy to underlying infection to heavy calculus deposits if it is really close to teeth to prominent root if gum recession to a neoplasm to many other things. Some of these things can be serious, while others not. You need to have your own dentist take a look at it in order to know exactly what it is and what treatment, if any is indicated.
