My 12 month olds hands turn purple when grasping an item. should i be concerned?

Difficult to say: It might be related to her skin complexion. In fair skin people blood vessels might be more apparent. When grasping an item it gets engorged with blood and becomes dark red to purple. However, the best way is to take the child to the doctor to have a look and assess accordingly.
