As expected....: This is normal and expected. Most sore throats are caused by viral infections, and viruses are not helped by antibiotics. Most doctors don't prescribe antibiotics to patients with sore throats unless strep throat is suspected, and even then, most possible strep throats aren't strep at all. If prescribed by a doctor, ask if you should continue the antibiotic. If self treated, best to stop.

Sore throat: certainly you may have a viral pharyngitis or sore throats which may take time to resolve but be sure you have been examined by a physician to be sure you are not developing a secondary abscess which may not get better with antibiotics alone
