Hair, nails, glucose: Biotin is commonly used to improve the health of hair & nails; while more research is needed it helps many with these issues. More impressively, it may dramatically lower blood sugar levels in both type 1 & type 2 diabetes, though in some of the studies it was given with chromium. It may help diabetic neuropathy. Not needed: Biotin supplement is not needed. Any one eating a usual diet does not have biotin deficiency and extra biotin does not provide any benefit. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
