A member asked:

I was in a car accident early sat a.m. went to er chest x-ray was clear. airbags deployed. my upper rt leg muscle is now throbbing. is this a clot?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most likely you had: a contusion (blunt trauma related injury) to your R leg, perhaps causing a small hematoma (blood bruise) in your deep muscle. These typically cause the most pain and swelling. However a venous clot certainly cannot be completely excluded especially if you have risk factors for blood clots (e.g. smoking, recent surgery or long distance travel, cancer, etc.). If it continues to hurt a lot, see MD
