Took klonopin (clonazepam) on/off for 17yrs, regularly 4mg total daily for last 5.doc says i haven't built up tolerance.i disagree & want off this med. opinions?

Benzos. Best not.: I agree with you. You need off this addictive medication. You need a new doctor. You may get good benefit from finding an addiction psychiatrist who will have all of the options available for you to get you safely off of this medication.

Suggestions: It's not clear why the Klonopin (clonazepam) was started, or where you are with the symptoms that led to this. Regardless of diagnosis, most people would develop tolerance to daily 4mg Klonopin (clonazepam) x 5 years. Please consider consulting with a psychiatrist to review your whole case -- and if your symptoms are stable, develop a plan to taper over time. If not stable, the plan can include additional help for you.
