A member asked:

My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in his early 70s. i'm 43. when should i start getting screenings?

Short answer is: age 50. Since your father did not have prostate cancer at an early age (defined as 65 or younger), your risk in regards to family history is the same as most everyone else. However there are other risk factors (e.g. African American ethnicity) that need to be considered.
