Fasting sugar?: Random sugar 118 is normal;fasting sugar of 118 is high, not diabetes high, but pre-diabetes high (if repeated and confirmed). Sugar of 118 after you ate something is no big deal.

Blood sugar level: I agree with Dr. Heller. If your body is really stressed, blood sugar levels may increase. In your situation we don't know if this was a fasting blood test or not. This would be fine if not fasting. Try not to fret.
