Potentially: An mri of the abdomen shows the structures in the abdomen, and it would show a gastric cancer that is large enough to be detectable. In its very early stages, gastric cancer may be subtle enough to not be detected on mri. Don't hesitate to discuss directly with your gi Doctor.

I just had an abdominal MRI, with and w/o contrast to check a liver lesion that was picked up on ultrasound. It came back as a hemangiona. Would this type MRI also show other issues, such as cancers of the liver, gallbladder and pancreas?
Issues of bloating, abdominal pains, constipation & lower back pains for 2 mos. All bloodwork stable except A1C result is elevated. CT Scan w/o contrast (allergic to iodine) shows Pancreatic head soft tissue mass. MRI recommended. Is this cancer?
