Can not eating cause platelets to drop? I'm normally 120-150k, but wasn't feeling good & hadn't eaten much for a few days due to nausea- result 96k. I rarely dip lower than 110 range. My cbc/bmp was otherwise totally normal.
My platelet count was 143 the lab says in normal range but last month it was 166 what could possibly cause this drop and I thought 150 is normal?
My last blood test showed my platelet count as 122K (just gotten over a cold a few days prior). Since normal range is 140-400K, should I be concerned?
I realize that thrombocytopenia has many causes.But is it likely that hydroxyurea can CAUSE a platelet count that is within the normal reference range to fall below the normal reference range 2 days after ceasing its use and fall to 9 ten days later?
Is this a normal fluctuation for platelets? 9/14/21-210 x 10 ^ 3ul, 10/8/21- 213 x 10^3ul, 10/14/21- 211 x 10 ^ 3ul, 11/5/21- 196 x 10 ^ 3ul. It seems like a big drop. I had pharyngitis could this cause the drop?
