I realize that thrombocytopenia has many causes.but is it likely that hydroxyurea can cause a platelet count that is within the normal reference range to fall below the normal reference range 2 days after ceasing its use and fall to 9 ten days later?

Severe thrombocytopenia can be a delayed side effect of hydroxyurea. Your statement was not clear about how long hydroxyurea had been used before the discontinuance.
