Be seen: I would not hesitate to be seen for an accurate diagnosis. The idea that it is occurring at more than one joint suggests something more systemic. Among the more common causes include gout, pseudo gout, reactive arthritis, or one of a number of inflammatory arthritic conditions. Blood work and possibly a joint aspiration will usually reveal the cause and then treatment can begun.
