No and No: Without going in to a large biochemistry or pharmacology lecture, lyrica and other antiepileptics turn down the function of nerves. The idea is to turn down the nerves in pain. Lyrica is not a pain medication as in a narcotic but for some reason, people have tried to abuse it so it is scheduled.
