See below: Depakene (valproic acid) or Depakote and Lyrica (pregabalin) are both antiseizure medications. They have a different mechanism of action but both can work to calm down overactive nerves in both the brain, spinal cord and the nerves outside of the spinal cord. Both can be used for pain conditions that are caused by overactive or damaged nerves. We often use more than one together because they work differently.
