A member asked:

Hi is there any reflection between depakine chrono & lyrica (pregabalin) ? as i get depakine for epilepsy by 2 tablets daily & lyrica (pregabalin) for herniated disc in back

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Depakene (valproic acid) or Depakote and Lyrica (pregabalin) are both antiseizure medications. They have a different mechanism of action but both can work to calm down overactive nerves in both the brain, spinal cord and the nerves outside of the spinal cord. Both can be used for pain conditions that are caused by overactive or damaged nerves. We often use more than one together because they work differently.
