I had possible hsv exposure and 9.5 weeks later was tested using herpeselect. the results came back negative. is this an accurate result?

Not quite conclusive: It can take 3-4 months for HSV antibody tests like HerpeSelect® to become positive. Most (around 90%) have positive results by 9 weeks, so your result is reassuring, but not conclusive. If you've had no symptoms of herpes, that's also reassuring and makes it very unlikely you were infected. Testing is not recommended after "possible" exposures, but since you started, test once more at 16 weeks.
