hard, firm, enlarged painless lymph node behind ear for 9 months. ent wants to do a ct scan of sinuses. what's he looking for?

Lymph node: Lymph nodes in that region are in the lymphatic drainage path of parts of the scalp, posterior neck, and ear, so would not necessarily be enlarged from sinus disease. Your best bet is to ask the ENT, maybe they are looking for something else. A sinus CT would not be adequate to evaluate for neck adenopathy
