A member asked:

My bf was diag'd w shingles in his ear & ball palsy. he has partial face paralysis but now feels tingling on the other side; could it become paralzyed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bell's palsy: It would be most unusual to have shingles on both sides of the face simultaneously. I assume he is on antiviral medication and possibly also on corticosteroid medication like prednisone as well. He should notify the treating physician of this new symptom if it persists or worsens so that consultation with or reevaluation by the neurologist will be obtained.
