X-rays & Cancer risk: X-rays including from CAT scans and other imaging tests can cause DNA damage and increase the risk of cancer. Although the risk is very small it is measurable and is not zero. Many studies have looked at this. For example see http://bit.ly/2jcths5

Risk: We know only very rough estimates of imaging risk for cancers. Your risk is likely greater the more ionizing radiation exposure. Going forward always discuss your past exposure with docs recommending additional radiation studies. We should always consider risk vs benefit when ordering studies.
