Slow Heart Rate: Normally the heart rate gets faster with exertion. If it does not, or it gets slower with exercise, some form of "chronotropic incompetence" is present. Possible causes include problems with the heart's conduction system. Exertional chest discomfort & shortness of breath also suggest a heart problem. Testing may be indicated, such as EKG & stress test.
