Not true.: Breast biopsies do not cause cancer. If breast cancer develops it's a genetic abnormality in the cells. The mechanical act of cutting tissue for analysis does not change the genetic makeup of the cell. Please followup with your gynecologist if you notice a change or lump in your breast.

Breast biopsy&cancer: To my knowledge - NO - A breast biopsy usually entails inserting a needle into a breast mass that has been isolated by ultrasound or palpation and extracting a "core" of tissue the diameter of the needle. This is sent for analysis. If there is cancer - some physicians get concerned that cells may "seed" the needle tract but the literature is NOT good. As far as causing cancer no !
