Also called: fasciculation. Twitching involves small muscle contractions.Muscles are made up of fibers your nerves control; stimulation or damange to a nerve may cause your muscle fibers to twitch. There are many causes of this: metabolic (high or low calcium), peripheral neuropathy, kidney diseases/failure, anxiety, drug effects (nicotine/caffeine) and, yes, MS. Multiple sclerosis: symptoms include generalized fatigue and muscle fatiguability. However, it would be VERY unusual for MS to cause quivering at all different areas of the body since it doesn't affect all areas of the brain and spinal cord. Random, non-localized "tics" can be caused by anxiety, stimulants like caffeine, imbalances in blood electrolytes & some meds. You're obviously worried, so see a doctor!
