2 mo. chest pain, sometimes at rest, always with exertion. normal xray, ekg, pfts. nsaids don't help, area not sensitive to pressure. next steps?

See Cardiology: Since you had all those diagnostic tests so far that are normal and it ALWAYS occurs with exertion and sometimes rest, discuss with your Dr. as the next step may include seeing a cardiologist and getting a stress test (treadmill) to assure it is not cardiac in nature with exertion, etc. and then proceed from there. Chest pain: There are many causes of chest pain, the heart is one, intestinal gas and thoracic musculoskeletal pains are very common, anxiety and panic attacks likewise are frequent causes. You should always ask the doctors who see you what they think is the problem you came for and what to do about it.
