We spoke to neurologist secretary and she said it's a notochord bnct. i will need follow up mri's as chordoma could develop. do you think biopsy is required? thank for your help.

Complex question: This condition is complex, so I hope the advice is coming from a neurologist, not his/her secretary. Benign Notochord Cell Tumor (BNCT) & chordoma are very similar in origin. The main difference in them is how much contrast is taken up during an MRI. More contrast uptake suggests chondroma, a condition requiring biopsy & surgery. BNCT may progress to chordoma.
