some women ovulate regularly with PCOS, some women rarely ovulate on their own, and some women ovulate at irregular intervals. Your OB/GYN can help you determine how often you ovulate if at all and what to do about it.

Perhaps!: Pcos is associated with infrequent ovulation, and associated strongly with Insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. The answer is best said, why have pcos, because it will improve with weight loss and a low carb diet. Medications can promote ovulation, but i believe you should try and take the "bull" by the horns!

Regular periods: Regular periods are invariably a sign of ovulation. If your periods are erratic and less frequent but normal when they come you are probably ovulating. A simple method you can use is to track your morning temperature, your "basal body temperature." after ovulation your baseline temperature will rise 0.3 or more degrees f, and stay elevated until your period comes (or longer if you are pregnant).

Ovulation and PCOS : Unfortunately , the only test for ovulation is pregnancy. You can try ovulation predictor kits. These only test for the hormones produced by the brain that surge prior to ovulation.

Not Necessarily: You can have a period that is anovulatory (without ovulation). This is similar to the type of period that one can have while on birth control pills, more of a withdrawal bleeding.
