Anti inflammatory: Hidradenitis suppurativa is an inflammatory condition. We use oral antibiotics, typically the tetracycline group, to suppress inflammation. If it is sufficient to suppress your flares, then it's fine to stay on it. Some doctors rotate treatment with other anti-inflammatories. All drugs have potential long term side effects. Being followed closely by a doctor is important.
