A member asked:

Co-worker got a cut and just licked off her blood. after she touched me with same hand. though the blood wasn't there am i at risk as it wasn't washed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If you had a cut, yes: Transmission of blood-borne infections (HIV, Hepatitis, etc) occur when there is shared bodily fluids like blood. So if a person had an open wound and was bleeding, and you also had an open wound on your hand and the blood touched it, then the risk is present. If you had intact skin, there would be virtually no risk for transmission.
