A member asked:

I had a tubal ligation in 2000. i just turn 50. i missed my period last month. should i be worry about being pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe/maybe not: If you were sexually active then run a pregnancy test. If negative, at age 50, you are probably in the peri menopausal stage of life where periods are often "skipped" due to ovarian depletion as menopause approaches Tubal ligations can and do fail, so don't forget the PG test, so you won't have a surprise "change of life" baby.
