Could be anything: Leg swelling could be a result of infection, inflammation, blood clots, lymph channel blockage, trauma, malignancy etc. you first need to get examined by a doctor before a diagnosis and treatment plan can be made

Swelling: If you have had persistent unilateral swelling for months, I would recommend getting checked for blood clot.
