Positive for group c streptococcus - finished full course of ceftin 6 days ago. 3 days ago i started breaking out in hives. what could be causing this?

Urticaria?: This may be an allergic reaction to cefuroxime (Ceftin) even though you finished it 3 days previously. However, such allergic reaction also can occur with various viral infections (which you likely had along with strep). Or reaction to some other drug you may be taking. Contact your doctor for sure: sometimes urticaria (hives) can be the start of a more serious problem. Good luck!
